Only
digital copies
Gran Angular works generally
with digital copies. That is to avoid
damages or looses of original slides or
negatives. You can send us your original
photos if you want and we will scan them
for free, but we prefer to work always
with digital images with a minimal resolution
of 300 dpi. 2.900 dpi or higher will be
better. In case of damage of originals
during the scanning process, Gran Angular
will not pay any compensation to the photographer,
since we are offering you a service for
free. We will not send the originals back
unless you specifically ask for this and
at your own expense. We want to avoid
the handling of your originals unless
you ask us to digitise them.
A text is needed
Since Gran Angular is specialised in features
and interviews we demand that all the
features you decide to submit us MUST
include a text. The text MUST have al
least three A4 pages. More will be appreciated.
We accept texts in the following languages:
English, French, Spanish, Italian and
Portuguese. The text MUST include: the
title of the feature, a short lead of
about 5 lines and the body. Texts must
be submitted by –email ( redaccion@granangular.net)
with the extension: .doc
Captions
All the photos you submit us MUST be captioned.
The information required is as follows:
name of author, description, date and
place. A short footnote will be appreciated.
The photos without captions and not indexed
will be refused.
Restrictions
Do not forget that the responsibility
for a photo is yours. It is up to you
to have the exemption signed by the people
photographed if necessary. This is important
to avoid lawsuits. Every time you send
us a photo, do not forget to specify these
exemptions and the restrictions of use.
In all the cases you must specify in which
countries we CAN or we CAN NOT sell your
photos and features.
How do you send your images?
Low-definition images can be
sent us by e-mail ( redaccion@granangular.net),
FTP (information) or CD. High-definition
images will ONLY be accepted via FTP (information)
or CD.
Size of the files
For news-related items, we can
accept images made with a digital camera,
we want to accommodate and offer our customers
a minimum resolution of 300 DPI. But our
quality standards impose us a minimal
resolution of 2.900 dpi. Most of our photos
have been scanned at 4.000 dpi. All the
photos submitted must be in one of these
two formats: RGB Jpeg or TIFF. All the
photos submitted must also be able to
guarantee a double page, which is 30 x
40 cms. Uncompressed files in high definition
can reach up to 75 megabytes. Each time
a photographer wants to send us some material
you must respect the following procedure:
1. First, you have to
send us the images in low-definition via
e-mail
( redaccion@granangular.net
) with the following proportions:
- 450 pixels width, if
it’s an horizontal image, at 72
dpi.
- 300 pixels width, if the image is vertical,
at 72 dpi.
Each image must include
the information described before
2. Second, inmediately
after sending us the images if low-definition,
you have to send us the high-resolution
images via FTP or saved in a CD-Rom with
the maximun definition you can reach with
your scanner (acceptable 2.900 dpi, best
at 4.000 dpi).
